Specialized Inks
August Research Systems develops specialized inks that are used to create tailored-spectrum camouflage patterns on fabrics that can be used to make uniforms, shelters, canopies, or other textile-based gear. Multi-color camouflage is created by screen printing different inks onto a textile substrate. Our prototype lab can print about 30 linear feet of fabric in one operation, and can seamlessly tie multiple print runs together to make longer continuous runs.
The testing lab at August Research Systems can characterize printed textile goods to determine:
- Spectral properties in the Visible and Infrared (IR)
- Colorfastness to crocking
- Colorfastness to light
- Flexibility
Pattern Files
August Research can also generate pattern image files — used to burn the print screens — with adequate trap to ensure proper registration and coverage.
